Geolocation

Geolocation refers to the ability to determine the geographic location of an object or a person. This includes the use of technologies like GPS (Global Positioning System) and other geolocation systems.

  • Geolocation relies on technologies that allow determining the location of an object or a person in space, often with great precision. Some of the most common tools include GPS (Global Positioning System), which uses satellites to triangulate a position, as well as Wi-Fi networks, Bluetooth beacons, and mobile operators' relay antennas, which provide location solutions in indoor environments or dense areas. It is widely used in everyday applications: GPS navigation for travel, tracking sports activities through smartwatches, locating lost devices with services like "Find My Device," or delivery services that allow real-time tracking of packages or drivers. In business, localization enables the display of advertisements or offers tailored to a user's geographic location.
